DASHRATH MANJHI WAS A LABOURER FROM GEHLAUR, NEAR GAYA, BIHAR. HIS WIFE FALGUNI DEVI WAS PASSING FROM SOME SORT OF SEVERE INJURUES DUE TO SOME SMALL ACCIDENTS IN 1959. DASHRATH MANJHI COULDN'T CROSS THE MOUNTAIN AND HER WIFE DIED. THEREAFTER, HE GENERATED A STRONG REBELLIOUSNESS AND STARTED TO CARVE THE GAINT 30 FEET WIDE AND 360 FEET HIGH MOUNTAIN AND SHORTEN THE LENGTH BETWEEN GEHLAUR AND GAYA FROM 55 Kms. TO 15 Kms.
